Terms of service

These terms govern your use of this store and your purchases from it. Placing an order means you accept them. They are written to be read — if anything is unclear, email us before you buy.

Who we are

This store is operated by office ideas insofar as (sole proprietorship, Daiki Saito), based in Fukui, Japan. Full business details, including our registered address and secondhand-dealer licence, are on the About page. Contact: support@keptjapan.com.

What we sell

Every item in this store is a single, used, one-of-a-kind piece sourced from the Japanese secondhand market, unless the listing explicitly says otherwise. Condition is described honestly in each listing: what we checked is stated, and what we did not verify is not claimed. Photographs are of the actual item you receive.

Because each item is unique, quantities are always one. Once an item sells, it is gone.

Orders and payment

  • All prices are in US dollars (USD). Payment is collected at checkout through the payment methods shown there.
  • Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we confirm dispatch.
  • Every item is inspected again before dispatch. In the rare case an item is found to be unavailable or not as described between your order and dispatch, we cancel the order and refund you in full, immediately — we do not substitute items without your agreement.
  • If a pricing or listing error is obvious (for example a decimal-point mistake), we may cancel and refund in full rather than ship at the erroneous price. We will tell you what happened.

Shipping, customs, returns

  • Shipping destinations, transit times, and how duties and taxes are handled are set out in the Shipping Policy. In short: most orders ship courier with duties and taxes included; economy postal orders may incur import charges on delivery, and the checkout tells you which applies before you pay.
  • We cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes or APO / FPO / DPO addresses.
  • Returns are governed by the Refund Policy: 30 days, return shipping on us, full refund.

Authenticity and description

We do not sell items we know or suspect to be counterfeit. Where a listing states that we verified something (a serial number, a hallmark, movement function), that is what we checked; we do not claim third-party authentication unless the listing names the authenticator. If you believe an item you received is not as described, contact us — that is exactly what the return window is for.

Intellectual property

Brand names and trademarks appearing in listings belong to their owners and are used only to describe the items. Listing text and photographs are ours; please do not reuse them without permission.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Beyond what the law requires and what these terms promise (delivery, refunds), our liability for a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for delays caused by carriers or customs once a parcel is handed over, though we will always help you chase them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.

Changes

We may update these terms; the version published at the time of your order applies to that order.
